Description: Memory Café provides a fun, engaging outlet for those with dementia to exercise their minds and connect with others going through similar challenges. At each meeting, a new topic is introduced to spark memories and conversation. The group engages in an activity related to the topic while volunteers facilitate discussions at each table that encourage sharing stories and memories. Refreshments are served to make it feel like going out for coffee with friends. With Memory Café, those with dementia can feel mentally stimulated and socially included. It's a welcoming community for exercising the mind and enjoying the company of others who understand.
The benefit of the cafe is interaction within a group setting. Therefore, a minimum of 8 attendees must register and attend this program or it will be canceled for that week.
