Group Dining+

Monday - Friday

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Group Dining+ service is available to any senior able to attend an ASLS location for a congregate meal. This service encourages seniors to interact with one another in a relaxed setting. Seniors have the opportunity to create friendships while enjoying guest speakers, crafts, stimulating games, fun exercises, or educational opportunities in addition to their hot meal. Check the calendar below to see what activities are happening at the different meal sites!

In order to get enrolled in the Group Dining program and eat at a meal site regularly, contact Veronica Williams (803-508-7057) at Lower Savannah Council of Governments to get started.

If you wish to visit and attend group dining as a guest, you will be required to reserve your meal two days prior to coming, and pay a $6.50 fee. All diners must be at least 60 years of age or older to participate.

Home Delivered Meals

Monday - Friday

10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Home Delivered Meal program provides a hot, nutritious meal to any senior who is unable to leave their home or who has difficulty preparing a meal. These meals are delivered by volunteers that provide important social interaction to the homebound seniors. These visits, which serve as an important “wellness check,” often turn into lasting friendships.

In order to get enrolled in the home delivered meals program, contact Veronica Williams (803-508-7057) at Lower Savannah Council of Governments to get started.

If you wish to enroll in a private pay home delivered meal subscription, please give us a call at (803) 648-5447 to get started. Individual meals cost $6.50 to $7.00 per meal. Cost is determined upon enrollment and is based on the location of the recipient.

These services are vital to our community.  Certainly, it gives our seniors a well-balanced meal. But it’s not just about a meal.  It’s about personal connections, mental stimulation, and social interaction. These are elements that are essential in keeping older adults fit and vibrant cognitively.
