Bad things can happen to good seniors when Meals on Wheels can’t be delivered. This vital program provides more than a meal — it’s also a wellness check, and sometimes, a missed chance to save a life.

Earlier this year, government funding shortfalls threatened over 22,000 Aiken Senior Life Services’ Meals on Wheels — putting our community’s seniors, including friends, neighbors, military veterans, and even family members, at risk.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and the Aiken County Legislative Delegation, every senior continued to receive the nourishment and care they depend on.

But these are uncertain times. ASLS has been informed that there will be no 2026 federal funding.

That’s why Aiken Senior Life Services (ASLS) has launched the All Hands On Deck Campaign, a $1,000,000 effort to create a permanent Reserve Fund. This fund will ensure that no homebound senior is ever left hungry or forgotten and allow those on the Wait List to begin receiving meals.
