Description: Learn how to create compelling watercolor art through this step-by-step, all materials included, workshop. Each week participants will make a different artwork that reflects various techniques learned. Aug 23: This first session is an introduction to watercolor, covering wet-on-wet technique, splatter technique, and incorporating pen and ink for added detail. Sept 6: This session will incorporate the use of the wet-on-wet technique while also introducing the use of a wet- on-dry technique. Sept 13: This last session will introduce sketching and incorporate it into the wet-on-wet technique learned in week 1.

Description: Fire performance is an art that utilizes physical movements in tandem with items designed to sustain a large flame to create a visual effect. Skills within this art form include juggling, baton twirling, poi spinning, fire breathing, fire eating, and more. Join us in welcoming a member of Arcane Arts to discuss flow arts, fire safety, and fire performance. During the event participants will get to see a flow arts presentation with Poi, a fire safety discussion, and a fire performance of bubbles and fire fans!

Description: This 4-part series will take you on a journey through the history and intricacies of restoring artwork! Nov 7: Learn the fundamentals of Art Restoration from a master painting conservator who formally trained in Germany and Switzerland. Nov 14: Join Mr. Lamar as he introduces participants to previously restored artwork and engages participants in a discussion of the processes undergone to achieve their restoration. Nov 21: Observe closely as Mr. Lamar brings in a piece he is actively restoring. Watch his technique in action as he discusses the visual differences expected in artwork as it is restored to its former glory. Nov 28: Workshop - Learn how to restore your artwork through the helpful guidance of Mr. Lamar, using the tools of the trade passed onto him from his own mentor and experience.
